- 5 / 5By John OI moved to Reno from Ct in 1999 & Carls was the very 1st gay bar I went to when I moved there & carls was a 10 min walk from my apartment so I was there a lot & I lived at Sundance west apts on Clover way & from The minute I walked in there everybody was so friendly and welcoming. It became my weekend hang out & on Sundays I would do beer bash. I left Reno in 2007 to move back home to Ct & Carls was the last place I stopped to say goodbye & I had become part of the Carl's family & they were sad to see me go. There may not always be the biggest crowd there but they treat you like you're a VIP all the time. I miss Carl's & the people I became close to.November 02, 2016
